An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a proven strategy for assisting employees and their families with personal and work related issues which may occur from time to time. These issues can effect the work performance of an employee and can manifest themselves in the following ways:

• Absenteeism

• Tardiness

• Poor productivity

• High staff turnover

• Conflict between employees

• Accidents in the workplace

• Substance abuse

The EAP is a fully covered benefit provided by most employers. An Employee Assistance Provider offers confidential counseling that addresses concerns through short term problem resolution. If you are unsure about this additional benefit ask your human resources specialist.
